hi Sassy,
I'm sure Oprah does help people. However, I was NOT one of them (I asked too). I can understand how you feel.
I realize that there are many people in the world asking for Oprah help. So, who I'm I? I guess.
I had to learn to trust in God. I mean to really trust in God and to start 'speaking' out loud and praying (sometimes fasting)for my needs. God provided for me. Sometimes, it took a LONG time. Other times, it came quite quickly.
The bible tells us not to put our trust in 'MAN'. It tells us to trust in the Lord and He shall direct our path.
A long time ago,I learned the hard way how TRUE this is. When my family hit hard times, I sought out help from mankind. Afterall, I had given generously to charities (ex: American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Save the Children in Africa, Cerbral Palsy, and others). My family and I had given to churches, many TV ministries. We had given generously to individuals, families. My family had feed many poor, clothes people, gave them a place to stay, etc.
When my father was terminally ill, there was no other income because he could not work. My mother had 6 kids at home. Things were rough. We were in danger of losing the house we lived in which was a very old (falling apart). We needed money to pay the taxes ($1200 dollars). We also needed food, power, transportation, etc. However, the home was the most urgent need. I wrote and called many asking for help. I contacted some of the organizations, ministries whom we had helped for so many years. I called and wrote others as well.
Do you know how much I received?
NOT ONE PENNY.
NO ONE ever GAVE ME A SINGLE PENNY!
NOT A SINGLE PERSON EVEN OFFERED TO HELP!
However, God worked out a way for us to get the money to pay the taxes.
Also, when my first husband and I were married (we were in school) money was 'tight'. No, correction, it money was almost 'non-existent.
When we could not pay our utilities, our power/electric was turned off. IT STAYED OFF.
We had to get flashlights to see, and a kerosene heater for heat.
There was NO ONE that helped me. We lost our apartment.
If I did not have it, I had to just SUFFER. No MAN gave me ONE PENNY to help.
However,I have learned to trust God. He brought me through. God can work things out. God can keep a person and change their life around.
I cannot trust in man, I know that I can trust in God to provide for all of my needs.
I still give to the church. I give to charities sometimes. I still help individuals. However, I know better than to put my trust in 'man'.
I pray that God will bless you and provide for all of your needs.
